A few weeks ago we photographed the beautiful wedding of Joy and James Henderson, at Easthamstead Park in Wokingham. We are good friends with the brides sister, Shelly so no pressure there but after spending all day with their lovely families we feel like we are friends with all of them.
When we arrived all the boys were suited and booted and were looking very dashing, with a lot of pacing and nicotine to calm the nerves while the girls were getting ready in a room upstairs. The first thing I noticed when going into the room was the dress, it looked amazing even in the plastic bag, a very vintage honey colour with lots of lace and detail -a jaw dropping Ian Stuart number, perfect for the romantic setting. The shoes matched perfectly with the little cameo, she was very lucky to still have them at the end of the day as we’ve got the same shoe size we have the same shoe size so was very tempted to give them try.
The wedding was so relaxed and enjoyable, full of friendly guests who were always up for a quick natter in between shots. The wedding was intimate, full of people they loved and that meant a lot to James and Joy. There was such (without sounding too hippy) a good vibe, everyone we spoke to thought so highly of the couple, a lotta love in the room. James is from New Zealand and it was so lovely that his mum was able to make it over to the wedding. She made a lovely speech with messages from his sisters back home which was a lovely touch. Hope you had a safe flight back Colleen! Joy and James will be joining her shortly when they move over to New Zealand to start their newly wedded life of bliss -with a short stop in Thailand first for a bit of sun
Joy has two wonderful sisters who took care of most things for the wedding, an unbelievably creative duo who can turn their hand to anything wedding, from hairdressing, making invitations, favours (amazing photo frames), flower arranging, creating centre pieces and cake making! Everything hand made with every attention detail. Who needs to spend money on wedding planners when you have such wonderful sisters. I have included some pics of their handy work below. Everyone is trying to convince them to start up a wedding design service…do it do it do it. Anyone interested in their services let us know
Thank you so much for allowing us to photograph your day, we had a wonderful time. We wish you every happiness for your future in New Zealand.
Take care Lou and Barry xxx
