Strobist session

May 29th, 2010

On Monday I attended a strobist workshop lead my David Hobby, creator of the globally very popular blog, The Strobist. The McNally inspired blog looks at how we can use small speedlights/strobes of the camera to create awesome images.

Though this is probably inpratical to use during the fast pace of a wedding, it’s great for portrait photography, especially when you like to get out of the studio and make use of the environment around us.

Will add some Strobist inspired images soon!

Matt & Lucy, Sefton Park Wedding

May 26th, 2010

On Saturday we had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of an old school friend, at the Palm House, Sefton Park, Liverpool. The venue was beautiful, and with all the trees and heat, it felt almost tropical.

Matt and Lucy met at Leeds Uni, 8 years ago, and finally decided to tie the knot. They are a lovely couple and we wish them all the best for their future together.

Dominic Harris Portrait Session

May 14th, 2010

Anyone who attended Louise and my wedding will know we had a fantastic singer during the ceremony. A young local lad in birmingham by the name of Dominic Harris. This young singer featured on numerous TV shows including X Factor and Kids Stars in Your Eyes, and his manager approached me to take some photos for his new site, and hopefully album cover.

This portrait session was real fun and easy, as Dominic very photogenic, and a top bloke.

Annmarie and Antony Keele Hall Wedding

April 28th, 2010

On Saturday Louise and I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at Keele Hall, in Staffordshire. The weather was fab, the venue was perfect, but more importantly the Bride and Groom were just brilliant. There’s no two ways about it, this pair no how to lol :) , they were constantly smiling and laughing all day. Which is exactly how I think weddings should be.

All the best Annmarie and Anthony, and hope your enjoying New York!! Jammy gits! :)

Speak soon. Barry

Easter Sunday Bubble fun

April 5th, 2010

With my parents on a 6 week holiday around the States visiting family, (jammy g*ts) I spent Easter Sunday at the In-Laws. Big turkey dinner and Evie and Martha were there all day. As we arrived they were in the back playing with bubbles, so as you’d expect i got the camera out… I’m never more than and arms length away from him!! :)

Appologies for the duplication, I think I will resave these images as lightroom (the tool I use to edit the images saved these files a little lower, trying to reduce the time it takes to load the page… however the images in this post are pretty pixcelated.. hence me re-uploading a second version… I’ll stop waffling now.. its 02:25 am.. i need some sleep. :) )

More Ava from Easter Weekend

Annmarie & Anthony

March 29th, 2010

Last saturday I was at Keele Hall, to meet with Annmaria and Anthony and to take some shots at the venue. Keele Hall is a great venue lots of grounds and a large open rooms for the ceremony.

Mothers Day
